Ugaliing Magtanim; Sapat na Nutrisyon ang Aanihin

          The Junior and Senior Highschool students of Padre Vicente Garcia Memorial Academy participated in the celebration of the Nutrition Month with the theme “Ugaliing Magtanim, Sapat na Nutrisyon Aanihin”on July 31, 2018 held at the school premises. The program started at 7:30 o’clock in the morning with the opening remarks of Mr. Jayson O. Gulpan, the school Principal, followed by the students dancing in the song of Dura by Daddy Yankee for the Zumba Bida Dance Competition. After the dance competition, the emcees announced the start of the Food Display Competition with 30 minutes preparation. The Jingle Competition was conducted while waiting for the Food Display Competition. The competitors were from Grade 7 to Grade 9 and from Grade 10 to Grade 12. After the contests, the students proceeded to the awarding ceremony. The winners for each category are as follows:

Maranca; Zumba Bida Dance Competion (Overall) 1st Grade 12-Einstein, 2nd Grade 7- Agoncillo, 3rd Grade 10- Love; Jingle Competition ( G7- G9 Category ) 1st Grade 7, 2nd Grade 8, 3rd Grade 9; Jingle Competition ( G10- G12 Category) 1st Grade 11, 2nd Grade 12, 3rd Grade 10. The program ended at 12 noon with the closing remarks from Mr. Nonie Arias.

Filipino: Wika ng Saliksik

          The celebration of The National Language Month (Buwan ng Wika) with the theme “Filipino: Wika ng Saliksik” of Padre Vicente Garcia Memorial Academy Inc. was held on August 28, 2018, Tuesday inside the school premises. The program started with the parade of the students with their representatives in different competitions. The students took their health break first and were given time to prepare for the competitions after the parade. PVGMA students were gathered on the gymnasium for the formal opening of the event. Mr. Ruel Lata- G11 Pythagoras Adviser and Ms. Marianie Vargas – G7 Kalaw Adviser were the Masters of Ceremony for the program. The festival dance was the first competition conducted on the program. After the introduction of judges, the contest proper started. There were only three participants in this category from Grade 7, Grade 8 and Grade 11. After the performance of the last participant, top three winners on the pre contests like slogan making contest, essay writing contest, and poster making contest conducted on August 23, paasbukan ng isip conducted on August 24, interpretative reading on August 23 and impromptu speaking conducted on August 22, 2018 were awarded with medals and certificates. Five Competitors for the Madulang Sabayang Pagbigkas (group oration) from Grade 7 to Grade 11 exhibited their prepared presentation for the piece Wikang Filipino sa Pambansang Kalayaan at Pagkakaisa after the awarding. The students took their lunchbreak after the contests and went back to the gymnasium to support their representatives for the Cosplay ng Panitikang Pilipino competition. Before the contest proper started, the emcees introduced the judges for the category and explained the criteria for judging. Themes for the participants are as follows: Epic for Grade 7 to Grade 9 cosplayers and the four sanggres of Encantadia (Amihan, Danaya, Pirena and Alena) for the Grade 11 cosplayers. The Cool Step Movers together with Mr. Gilbert Lajara gave an OPM dance number before the continuation of the contest. For the last part of the program, the awarding ceremony for Festival Dance, Madulang Sabayang Pagbigkas, and Cosplay ng Panitikang Pilipino was conducted. After the awarding was the closing remarks of Mr. Nonato Arias.

Science Month Celebration

          Last September 29, 2018, PVGMA held its first ever Search for Ms. Eco-Warrior which was spearheaded by the Science Department as part of Science Month Celebration. The said undertaking aimed to uphold the creativity, innovation and environmental consciousness among PAVIGAMEANS through creative recycling under design thinking, an innovative approach in teaching.
